Technical highlights

On this project, beSteel’s FlatPacked system enabled the elevation of an existing building located by the sea in Guadeloupe. Delivered in disassembled profiles to reduce transportation volume and costs, the structure was locally assembled by the contractor following beSteel’s comprehensive installation manual, much like an “IKEA-style” kit. The extension added two levels and four new duplex homes, all completed in just 20 days. The structure had to withstand extreme coastal weather, so Magnelis® steel was selected for its corrosion resistance and strength-to-weight ratio, ideal for load-bearing applications without reinforcing the foundation.
